RAPP’s Women in Journalism and Media Program is a multi-year initiative supporting female journalists and women working across Aruba’s media sector.
Women in journalism and media can face specific professional challenges, including online and workplace intimidation, safety concerns, unequal visibility, limited access to professional development and pressure on their mental well-being.
Through workshops, training and professional exchange, RAPP aims to create a supportive environment where women can strengthen their skills, share experiences and build greater confidence and resilience.
The program focuses on:
- professional development and practical skills;
- physical, digital and emotional safety;
- resilience and mental well-being;
- professional visibility and recognition;
- stronger networks between women working in media;
- opportunities for shared learning and collaboration.
Reporting Safely for Women Journalists – 2025
The first programme activity focused on safety, resilience and mental well-being. Participants discussed the challenges women journalists encounter in their work and explored practical approaches to dealing with intimidation, pressure and online harassment.

Empowering Women in Media – 2026
The second activity focused on the visibility and contributions of women within Aruba’s media landscape.
Led by facilitator, corporate trainer and motivational speaker Belquis Moreu, the workshop brought journalists, public relations professionals and women working in different areas of media together to reflect on female empowerment, professional confidence and the importance of recognizing women’s contributions to journalism and public communication.
RAPP will continue developing activities that respond to the professional needs and experiences of women working in journalism and media.
